MTSFMCW - Mohawk Trail.....2017.....Plan B

Hey Kids....The Mohawk Trail State Forest Motorcycle Camping Weekend (MTSFMCW) is not to be this year (Again) as our host (Gary) is going to test fate once more in the Wild Wild West...

So, I'd like to propose an even lesser organized plan B (Again)

Who: The Usual Suspects (Not just a great movie)

What: Good friends riding Northern VT

When: Jul 7-9

Where: Smuggler's Notch State Park Campground, Stowe VT

Why: Why Not? Like you really need a reason to ride...

Reservations: 1-888-409-7579 or https://securevtstateparks.com/cgi-b...utmk=164600895

This is a totally disorganized, Big-Boy, non-event! Make your own reservations (ASAP) as sites go fast, arrive when ya can, find your own places to eat, find your own riding partners and leave whenever the F you want.

That said.....What say you and Who's in???

Of course, in as usual. Sorry that Gary is not around, but the "usual suspects" will carry on the torch. Come on guys ( and gals), join us for what has become a great disorganized event. Great riding in Northern Vt., with some pretty cool riders. Great way to spend the weekend after the 4th. This is the first of many riding weekends for 2017. Pete, access to the sign up sheet is locked except by request, trying to keep the rif raf out???

Hey!

Hi Kids!
Glad to see the call letters (MTSFMCW) still survive. Thank you for carrying the torch. True.... Patty and I are heading out west again sometime in May to spend the summer in and around the Tetons. We're not doing a travel trailer this time, but are looking to rent a house. I'll be pulling the Strom behind a new Toyota 4 Runner on an aluminum utility trailer. I did look to see if the group site at Mohawk was availabe late in April or very early in May..... booked!! So........... we're considering doing another backyard camp out here in Feeding Hills, MA in late April/early May. The back yard is a nice camp out spot and the weather here in the low lands has a better chance for being motorcycle friendly than the higher elevation of Mohawk. This isn't a for sure yet, and we do want to keep it very low key, but it's a possibility. I'd like to. Still, late April can be iffy. Will keep y'all posted.
Along with you, impatiently awaiting spring!
Ride safe ( and hopefully soon )

Hey Pete, et al.
Please see the newly posted MTSFMCW Plan A tread just posted. I think, absolutely, we should keep Plan B in working order, too. "like you need an excuse to ride?" lol I'd like to try to make plan B, also. I'm going to be very free to ride this summer. I'm considering Nova Scotia, or even a trip out west via 2 wheels.
Ride safe, all.

Hi all,
I am new to trail riding. Took a course off roading the Vee last spring, and practiced whenever I could all last season. How difficult would you rate this ride?
