I posted my formal introduction to the forum here, but I also wanted to add a post to this thread. I just purchased my DL650 last weekend and so far I absolutely love it.

I am from Peru, IL. I am a new owner of a 2006 Vee. Aside from Rt 71 near Starved Rock the roads are very boring in my area?

Stringer, there are many, many nice roads just west and south of you down 26 (east of Il-river) all the way to Peoria and back up 29 (west of Il-river) and around thru Tiskilwa and Spring Valley. There are so many side roads along those highways you could roam them for weeks. You use a GPS?

There is a great run between Wilmington and Kankakee along the Kankakee river on both sides. Route 113 on the west side and route 102 on the east.

We ride that one all the time.

From Berwyn, pick up my 2012 dl650 about a month ago.

Not real close to Chicago, I'm in Decatur. There's a couple other Stroms around here but I've only seen them in passing.

Just found out that a Cycle Gear has opened in Shaumberg. I think this is the only one in Illinois. Just in time for Black Friday.

Where did they move? Is the mechanic Tom (?) around?
