6x25 bolt question

Hey there,

I broke the upper rad bolt on my '09 Strom.

My question is, are all 6x25 metric bolts the same? Can I just go to the hardware store, or do I need to go to a Suzuki dealer?

The Suzuki part # is 09118-06097-A0S

It is described just as a 6x25

I also wonder, since it goes right into the frame, which is aluminum, does the bolt need to be a particular material?

Any advice would be helpful.

There are odd thread pitches available but that is typical, M6x1.0, 25mm long.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014+ DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012+ DL650s

bolt grade

metric and no-metric bolts come invarious grades (of strength)

don't go below a grade that matches the original

Mertic thread pitch chart
Metric Thread Chart - by Zero Fasteners

Thread pitch is the number of millimeters per thread, or the number of threads per inch.

Bolt grade (strength) chart
Bolt Depot - Bolt Grade Markings and Strength Chart
There are more grades for special applications than just these.

This is a very handy tool to have around. That company BelMetric is also a good place to buy metric fasteners and TimeSert stuff if you can't find it at your local Ace Hardware.
