Installing Kisan Pathblazer modulator on 650?

I have Installed a Kisan Pathblazer Modulator to my K10. It all works fine. However, are the plug on units meant to be placed inside the rubber headlight lamp protectors? Or are they weather proof enough to be fine on the outside?

It was easy fit to go on the outside, straight onto the bulb lugs that protrude, rather than try and muck around getting it inside and then getting it all to seal.

I wonder for folks that have fitted them, how did yours go?

The Kisan units fit nicely on the outside of the rubber boot. 6 years of trouble free service till I sold the bike. A very simple plug n play.

Are these modulators a pita for night time riding? Or do they have some sort of light sensor?

i have no personal experience with any but it's always been my understanding that they have a sensor so the modulation only occurs during the daytime, as their purpose is just to draw some attention to the headlight when they're otherwise less likely to be noticed.
been thinking about picking one up for my strom, but i'm waiting on some philips xtreme power bulbs first and will see how i like those

If not for it's 500 lb. weight, limited ground clearance, spindly handlebars, close fender fit, short suspention travel, exposed oil filter and forward weigh bias, it would make a great dirt bike.
