Question Should a new vStrom have some engine oil seepage?

Should a new vStrom have some engine oil seepage?

I was cleaning the bottom of my bike the other day & noticed that an inordinate amount of dirt was clinging to a few spots on the bottom of the engine indicating a tiny amount of oil seepage.

Is this normal or is it indicative of some problems several months/years down the road?

There should be no seepage. Are you sure it is ongoing? If there is still oil appearing following a cleaning you can take it in on warranty or first torque the drain plug to 15lb-ft to see if that is the culprit.

Ooops, I forgot to include the pic. A little came from the drain plug, but the most noticeable is in the center of this photo.

That can come from the grease applied to O-rings and seals during assembly rather than seepage. See if it continues after cleaning.

Thx, I'll keep an eye on it.
Cheers
