Sorry I don't have pix or a write-up... I'm quite new. My Wee is only a few weeks old. BUT, if you contact Blair at svracingparts.com, he's sure to guide you through the replacing of the line. He helped me a lot. Just be sure that it's routed so that it doesn't contact anything in your faring/cowl that might cause a steering issue. Other than that, I think Blair told me everything, other than the obvious stuff such as don't get brake fluid on your brakes or tires and then ride off. The risers are very simple, and I'm sure that whomever you buy them from would help if needed. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to try to answer them.

Thumbs up DL650 abs Black SS Extended Top Front Brake Line Kit

Hi Mark, don't worry, I will look after you. I developed the Black SS Extended Top Front Brake Line Kit with Galfer when the DL650 abs first came out with our bikes. The Kit is a SV Racing Parts, Private Part Number with Galfer and only available to Stromtroopers and only available through me.

It is not expensive, only $49.95 all in with $10 Flat Rate Shipping to your door anywhere in the USA,

Once you receive, contact me directly with your phone number and I will give you a call while you are at your bike with the parts so that you can easily see where it goes. I will also share with you how I go about installing it and bleeding, it is not difficult once you see how to do it simply,

Have faith, I have not let you down before, and I can assure you that I have assisted many many Stromtroopers who were a little nervous about doing it with success in every case.

As mentioned as well, I highly recommend that you order and install the CT Single Banjo Bleeder in your Master Cylinder at the same time. It will allow you to bleed and maintain your brakes from the top where all the tiny air bubbles migrate with gravity and remain trapped in your master cylinder,

Your bike and your brakes will thank you,

Let me know whenever you are ready,

Enjoy the ride, and best regards,
Blair

Eastern Beaver sells some line extension should u want to take the easy route (they are not expensive)- I have 3.5inch ROX raiser (!) and find it unnecessary to use extension on the clutch side and throttle side is okay too (but very tight) - u do need to loosen the radiator to get behind the the shroud to reroute the cables a bit to fit. I find to the extension too long actually.

Horn wire in my case needed to be extended. Where things might get really tight is going to be your clutch cable for DL650 - not sure how DL1k would work.

But i have done it on Dl650 with Protaper Low bar and 3.5inch Rox riser with the only extension needed being the horn wire. The front forks was drop through about 5-7mm, which helps too.

Hi Blair,

Just ordered my setup a few minutes ago and am looking forward to getting it! I have the Genmar risers on now and am trying to wait patiently for you to ship... Hurry!

I'd suggest not installing risers before receiving the longer lines. There's nothing worse than being Wee-less while waiting for the mail! Living with the bars in the stock configuration should be tolerable for a few days. When the line, fluid, et al are in hand, do the entire project. That's my two cents...

I'm on-call through Monday so can't ride anyhow...

I'm also putting on my Madstad bracket, handguards and SW Motech centerstand during the slow times as well as an oil/filter change...

It sounds like you're knocking everything out at one time. That's the way to do it! Man, those center stands seem way too expensive, so I bought a cheap swing-arm stand from Harbor Freight, and I made my own spools. It flexes when used, but is better than my previous method of jacking up the back wheel. Where would you suggest I order a pair of handguards? We actually had a couple of cold days out here in So. Cal., although we're back to Summer weather now.

Yeah the center stands do cost - But for me I spray my chain down at every gas up with WD-40 (and get 30-40K on a chain) so it's quick and easy to do and worth it to me, and makes it a lot easier overall on the road for air checks, loading/unloading bags etc.

If you don't want crash protection with your hand guards, and just wind/brush protection, you can get the OEM Suzuki kit (I like them they look nice and work very well) from Oneida for $48:

Thanks for the 411 on the handguards. Being a guitarist, I thought that barkbuster protection would be best... but they seem too complicated to install, and I like my bar-end weights. So I ordered the ones from Oneida. They're on sale for a buck less than you mentioned, so I'm feelin' like I scored... even though they charge $17 for shipping. Still a good deal. Thanks!
