I'm not sure why it would simply not work as-is? Any reason anyone can see?

If one does not care about electrification inside the tankbag, Cortech sells a top and bottom tankring set for $20. You can just bolt the bag or box of your choice to the top ring.

I installed a Luggage Locker tankbag on my Strom by using this set-up and it did very well on a recent 5,000 mile ride with a lot of weight in the bag. They are part of the Cortech Dryver Luggage, which is fairly new. Here's a link:

I'm looking for feedback from those of you that have used an electrified Bags-Connection setup for a while (several months at least) - how are they holding up, any electrical connection issues, etc?

I have to say I am not happy with mine. The bag (city) and the bracket are great but the electrical connections didn't last.
I did a multi-month trip (99% highway) and it started to go intermittent about halfway through my trip (I estimate around 10,000km - 15,000km). Now the electrical connection is almost totally non functional, and I wish I had just bought the standard one.
I sent an email to the company but never received a response. I.M.H.O save the money and go without the electrical.

I have the standard B-C tank ring and have the Engage tank bag. I run my electrical from a powerlet outlet into the bag through the front cable port when I need electrics in the bag.

We have the electric connection mounts and bags from TT on both the 650 and 1000 and have had zero problems for the past 1 1/2 years. Four more bolts to remove when removing the tank but not a big deal. We run double chargers inside for cell phone and Ipods.
