I have 2 JC whitney cases on he sides, and a Bestem trunk just cause it had the brake light, The side cases are as big as my friends GIVI cases, and the bike is just as wide. Takes a little getting used to, extra width. I still bump into things.
I'll be mountin LED track lights on the side cases come spring, or when it's warm enough.
If you do JC whitney, you'll have to alter the mounts on the trunk, I used a dremel. All is well.
