09 Wee 34,000kms. Sudden charging problem also. Made it home but stator done. 320.00 can for new one. Had expected better reliability than that.

2007 V with 32,000 miles. Total failer of charging system.
Stator and magnets , rectifer. Big money to fix |

I have a combination of issues – a burnt stator (all 3 phases shorted to ground), r/r fails diode checks and the magnets are misaligned in the stator rotor. All but one of the magnets came unglued - all touching each other - leaving a huge gap in the field.

Stator failed at 52,600 miles. $280 and a 5 day wait.

So far ...
2002 DL1000 3 of 8 = 37.5% 2003 or later DL1000 31 of 100 = 31.0% 2004-2007 DL650 12 of 139 = 8.6% 2008 or later DL650 26 of 134 = 19.4% |

Those percentages are of those replying. In actuality, they are much lower. Most people who do not have problems and some who do have never seen this thread.

I have a 2008 Wee, 34000Km, no electrical equipment and no problem up to now.

Even after the top end and case splitting on my motor stator leads all in spec / regulator doing its job... 36k all is well *knocks on wood*
grip heaters when I get off freeway in the morning I shut off so when I park in the parking garage at work volts are back 13.64

As long as they ( Suzuki ) keeps selling VEE's why take the time and $$$ to fix it ???.
