Default If packing...where?

A discussion came up at our last motorcycle club meeting about the best way to to carry items like cellphones and/or pistols on your person while motorcycling. Now I don't want to stir up a back and forth on the pros and cons of carrying a pistol, we've all heard both sides many times, but rather if you choose to carry a pistol or cellphone where do you put it. The Stich has a pocket in the sleeve that works for some, but other than that where have you found is a good place, on your person, that minimizes additional injury in the event of a "get-off"?

I carry pistol and cell phone on my person, almost always. I do vary where I carry these items however, depending on weather, where I am traveling and what riding gear I am wearing.

I would like to hear some ideas about this. I really don't have a good place to store these items.

I hot glued a bracket in to my tank bag to hold my cell phone in place. I actually need to redo this since I just upgraded phones. My revolver I don't carry any differently than normally; IWB holster.

I've usually carried my phone in the inside jacket pockets designed for that when on a local day ride, and may pull over if I get a call, but the phone goes in my luggage when on a multi day road trip. Don't know why exactly, just phone interuptions when on vacation are less welcome, I guess. I check my phone at gas or meal stops when traveling.

As for the pistol, I'm traveling to Billings, Mt again this summer, will be riding through Oregon, Id, Mt, Wy, Colorado, Utah, Nev, and back into Oregon. I can legally carry in about half those states, and will probably carry in the jacket where legal, and I bought this for those states I cannot carry

GunVault Nanovault NV100 - Walmart.com

It's a nice product, but it doesn't fit under the seat as I hoped. I will probably lock the pistol in this, in my top box when I need to. My favorite carry pistol is an LC9, single rail magazine, so it's thin and light, easy to carry in a jacket or a pancake holster, riding high enough, a t-shirt or riding jacket covers it.

I carry light when on the bike. S&W Bodyguard 380 sometimes wife's Ruger LC or S&W 9mm Shield. I want a gun that is easy to conceal and not bulky like my Beretta. I always carry an extra magazine as well. OWB most often but sometimes IWB right hip location. Cell phone in tank bag.

Generally speaking, I carry a small pistol in the upper left breast pocket, either a patch pocket or zippered pocket, depending on which piece of gear I have on. The cell phone rides in the tank bag.

My concern with this is the prospect of injury, whether in a holster on the hip or on the back, is the potential for spine or hip injury from an unyielding object between the body and the "road".

I have considered this as well. To me it's an accepted level of risk. If you go down you may or may not land on it. If you go down you may or may not have bigger things to worry about. To each his own though.

I live in CT so 2 directions I am out of state and illegal in 20 minutes to carry a pistol. Never thought about it, but If I am armed it is always on my person.

The two times I got stopped when armed I put my hands on my head and then stayed there as I told them I DO have weapon on me, funny usually gets me off
