I don't have the data, but I would bet that this risk is significantly greater than that which would exclusively be prevented by the use of a pistol carried on one's person.

I have been armed daily for more than 20 years, when i was in a bad Motorcycle crash in 1994 The firearme ( Colt 1911 ) was in a Fanny pack. It stayed with me durring the impact with the tree and all the way to the hospital. In October of last year the same 1911 was in my tank bag when I was rearended.

Currently I either Carry IWB or in my tank bag, Its not as quick to get to when wearing ATGATT but you make trade offs in life.

As far as my Cell, I keep it in the clear map pocket of the tank bag charging from the bike. and I connect it to my lid with a Sena SMH10-11.

I have been known to carry my 1911 in a Serpa Drop leg holster out in the open for god and everyone to see as stated in another thread it cuts down on tailgaters and people hang up their cell phones when I pass in traffic.

I suppose that would vary with where and when you are traveling.
But back to the original question as to where on the person to carry. Has anyone here tried an underarm holster with a flat, smallish pistol such as the XDS?

I carry the phone in the right side pocket of the Roadcrafter or Darian or what ever MC jacket I'm wearing at the time. If the phone is not handy on your person when you wake up from a get off it isn't of much use. Tank bags have a way of flying away, how do I know that?
I do have gun that would fit in the little sleeve pocket of the Roadcrafter but folks would only laugh at it when they saw it.

So.... these weapons don't have anything to snag or catch when you are retrieving them? They can be produced quickly without getting snagged?

Also, do you have to remove your riding gloves first or can these be operated with gloved hands?

I only use a form fit holster so no snags but with a riding jacket on it takes a little longer to get to. All gloves pose a problem but summer riding gloves are workable while heavier gloves well....not so much.

I tried ankle and waist with my Glock G26. Ankle was bad due to boots. Waist was bad because I always felt it. I now use a shoulder holster which works perfect in hot or cold weather. In the cold its under my coat, in the heat it is under my jersey or mesh jacket. With a shoulder rig, it would be tough to end up with the gun between my body and pavement. Pick a corrosion resistant pistol if you ride with a shoulder holster as it will be soaking wet with sweat sometimes.

Every now and then on a short trip I stick a j-frame in my coat pocket. My glock and j-frame are hamerless and completely snag free. I do not perceive the need for ultra quick access as I will be trying to avoid any issues or talking my way out of them.

I throw my cell in the topcase...and only check it when getting gas.

That was my thought. Glad to see someone has tried it and found it satisfactory.
Thanks

I carry my phone in the breast pocked of my riding jacket. Any where is better than pants front or back pockets

I don't own a pistol but am grooving all over the GunVault. I'm thinking of buying one and bolting it to the inside of my top box to hold my phone, house keys, wallet and stuff like that while on multi day rides. It would be nice to have somewhere secure.. the plastic of my Givi will slow down most ne'er-do-wells that should stop the rest

This thread sound totaly unreal from here Canada.
Not only illegal, but immoral. I hardly believe what i read, i.e people that seem finding normal to carry guns on them...
