I am in Brooklyn... Clinton Hill area. I have gated parking and there is a garage up the street if that is more to your liking I think its about twenty a day. This is the cheapest place to stay around. Hotel Le Jolie 235 Meeker Avenue
New York, NY 11211 (71 625-2100.. Also look at airb&b there are a lot of places on there for decent rates and they have kitchens. My area is about 15 20 min to the city much closer to the city NJ and easy to get of. If I can help any just let me know I have lots of contacts..

Here's a link to the ez pass. It works in most other NE states too. Some areas have high speed lanes too. It might not work on every toll in NYC though like bridges, not sure about that.

Two comments -

EZ-Pass - works on all NYS toll bridges, tunnels and the NYS Thruway - also works on Mass Pike.

Metro North - I also agree with the Metro North comment. There are tons of decent yet reasonable hotels along the train line that runs to Poughkeepsie. You can park the bikes at the hotel and take the train down and back for a day of sightseeing.

I am also planning to ride to Newfoundland this July but don't know dates yet. It all depends on when my girls go away to summer camp. But I have the whole winter to dream and plan.

Not a typo Fifteen Dollars I think The Washington Bridge is up to $8

They use the highway dollars to pay for the subways while the roads are sh*t
