Hi everybody! My name is Jason and I am new to the V Strom world, or will soon be. When I rotate back to the states (I'm in the Air Force) I will be getting a DL1000. I was just wondering, what are some of the cool upgrades I can do to my bike? Exhaust is a given, but what about a power commander or lowering kit?

Welcome to the V-Strom world.
Took the Motorcycle Safety course two years ago, bought an '11 Wee, and never looked back. I am beyond satisfied with my Wee. I did install adjustable lowering links ( I am 5'8" tall with a 30" inseam), and this set up works well for me. I am sure if you search the site, you will find a number of discussions as to everyone's favorite farkles. I also installed hand guards( great in colder weather), a givi adjustable windshield, Stebel horn, engine guards, top case and tank case. All these farkles add to the experience. I believe Suzuki will be coming out with an updated Vee in a year or so. A number of new additions including ABS and others-just a thought. Welcome, good luck and thank you for your service. |

This would be a great starting place for a "Wee vs. Vee" thread.
They are very different bikes. BTW: jkelley, hope your AFCS is something in the electro/technical/mechanical field. Your gonna' need it. ![]() Welcome to Stromtrooper, all the V-Strom answers are here. Regards, -Ej-

Power Commander is only needed if you have a lean fuel stumble under 4000 rpms. Stock seat is an ass burner, but your young and hopefully the Air Force has you in shape. If your over 5'10" you will need a new wind shield.
Luggage is a personal preference. The winning farkle is a $80 fork brace. |

@ Electrojake, I'm a heavy equipment operator, but I'm pretty good at figuring things out. What exhausts have y'all seen on the vee and which do you think is the brand to go with?
