Default Praise for motorcyclist from Australian government transportation study!

Usually the stories about motorcyclists in the news are all bad. Here's a nice change of pace from a study about the benefits of motorcycling to society. Amazing!

This is great. Now we just need to get more American citys to admit that motorcycles are good. In my city there are no perks for motorcycles other than that most police officers won't ticket if you park in the crosshatched areas at the ends of regular parking spots. Notice that I said most don't ticket, some do so I am careful about parking there.

Don't worry, it's from the Federal govt. The States will ignore it so there'll be no change.

I live in LA, and there are definite benefits to riding a bike here. Parking is much easier, lane splitting is legal, and more often than not I get a respectful wave from local motorcycle cops. That being said, I wish the public saw motorcycles in a more positive light, and I think this article is a big step for that. I'm surprised more states haven't allowed lane splitting like CA has, it's a huge traffic help.
