Yield to the weather if you need to.
I tried to cross Colorado westward on I-70 in mid-June of 2010.
At the welcome station, nine miles into the state, I learned that
over 500 miles of snow lay ahead of me.
Because my intended destination, Vancouver BC, lay far to the north,
I inquired about crossing Wyoming, the state north of Colorado, instead.
Not a good idea, because most of Wyoming lay under a foot of snow.
I have ridden through twenty Ontario winters, so I can ride in snow,
but at age 68 with marginal gear, I declined the opportunity, and retreated.
If you find weather that makes your trip a nightmare, or too dangerous,
please reset your sights, probably to the south, and holiday elsewhere.
