What do you do when you've just bought a new *bike and you can't ride it?!!?
S__T. There's some farkles I could put on it, but if winter persists, that will only make matters worse. I feel like following the geese south, really... Its sitting out there in the unheated garage, all lonely....:- ( *(pearl white '11 with 4,800 miles). The big consolation is knowing that I'll be riding the crap out of it come April.... |

I feel your pain. Sitting here in my office in Lake George NY and staring at a dusting of snow. I hope to ride on Tuesday, as the forecast is for 52 degrees and cloudy. Maybe we will wind up having a winter like last year where I rode all winter in upstate N.Y.- a first.
Now is the time to perform maintenance and more farkeling. International Motorcycle Show in NYC in January is also something to look forward to. |

It sounds like you need another toy to play with to keep your mind off the bike. Hmmmm...... perhaps a snowmobile would ease your restless mind. Afterall, what's another $8000?

Snow? I have new skis* that I'm more than ready to get on the snow. The snow in the west is running a bit late this year. This is neither a La Nina nor El Nino year, (La Nada), and these neutral climate pattern years are when the most extreme weather occurrences happen, at least in the West. I'm ready!
Oh, yeah, I'm riding next week with Motocaribe in the Dominican Republic, and where I live I ride twelve months. My preference is to ride when the temperature is above 40° and I don't ride out in the rain, but I'm ready to ride home in the rain. *Head Icon TT800. Only one shop in the U.S. carried them, and they were sold out by the time I bought, so I got them from a shop in Germany via eBay.de. Rocker skis are horrible in anything except deep snow, wide skis belong on deep snow, not packed snow, and 12 to 13 meter sidecut rocks! Head Ski

Snow is that white stuff we see in the mountains, correct?
We don't have stellar winter weather like our southern counterparts, but at least the scenery is green.

I know about cold.
It was 56 this morning, so I waited till it got to just over 60 before my 100 mile ride today. Winter is a bitch. |

Indeed, moving from Minneapolis to So. Oregon was the best decision I ever made.. Bitter cold winter from Halloween through Easter was just no fun anymore. Course, it's storm after storm coming in from the coast this weekend, so I won't be putting on many miles either.
