I have the OEM handguards and like most here with them recommend them for colder riding. With them, I hardly ever use my non-heated winter gloves, the summer gloves I have usually are enough (although I carry the winters just in case). I was going to spring for a set of heated gloves but don't really feel the need any longer. I do need to say that I don't ride much when the temps are below about 40 any more though as I got a touch of frostbite some years ago and my hands hurt something awful if they get cold.

Hippo Hands are a great addition if you have hand guards which prevent the problem chetc described. My HHs will be going back on the bike soon.
