Where do you find a good waterproof high quality cigarette lighter. The auto parts stores ones look cheap and failry fragile for a bike use. looks like the beemer ones need adapters and such?

West Marine stores have a couple of good ones in stock. If no West Marine stores nearby, you can probably find the same products at any marine/boating store.

I got one at Walmart in the boating section, it's black and has a base. I cut a 1" hole in the panel under the windshield and installed it there. It has a mount but un-screws and will go into a hole.

Amazon.com - search for "12V marine outlet" and you'll get several choices under $20 or so.

Re: waterproof when you have a device connected to the outlet, I've had good luck using a balloon with the top cut off to make a snug, waterproof "sleeve" to seal the exposed connection from the elements.
