I've heard that changing the link length changes the effective "lever arm", so your suspension may "feel" different.
A shorter lever will need more applied force than a longer one to compress the spring/ shock a given length.
So, while you won't gain travel, you'll change the rate and may use more or less travel than before the change - all else equal. Shorter link raises bike, shortens lever arm (acts like a higher rate spring); longer link lowers bike, lengthens lever arm (acts like lower rate).
Would love for someone to confirm or deny this.
