I am ready to install my aux fuse box, question I have is 12ga stranded wire ok to run to the battery about 10" run and the same for the ground to power the box.

In a single wire, not a bundle, that is cooled by the air, #12 wire is rated to carry 41 amps.

It is all about the heat. In a house where the wire is wrapped in a 6" fiberglass overcoat and isn't the best insulation in the first place, #12 is limited to 20 amps. For future reference look for ampacity tables.
