I 've been thinking about installing xm radio on my 2012 Wee. I run a Sena smh10 to listen to my phone calls and music but xm would be nice to have.
My question for you guys that might know is -- does xm have a version of their radios that has bluetooth ? It would be nice not to have a cord running from the xm reciever to my helmet--is this possible ? Thanks for any replies--Dean |

If you have an iphone, you can download the app and listen to it over your phone as long as you have a data package.
I'm fairly sure that they don't have a radio that's bluetooth supported.

Audio quality of music over bluetooth doesn't do it for me.

If so, IT WILL NOT OPERATE BLUETOOTH WITH XM! I have since taken the XM antenna off the zumo. You have to run a hardwire from the Zumo cradle to the Sena headset for XM. It works GREAT with the phone on bluetooth and even the internally stored music sounds pretty good. Just won't do XM. Maybe they changed the 665 and I didn't see it, but beware the zumo 550 will not bluetooth XM......

The 665 is different. Unlike the 550, it has the XM antenna built in, does stereo over Bluetooth and from my link:
Have a long ride planned? The zūmo 665 is your all-in-one entertainment center. Featuring an on-board MP3 player and advanced Bluetooth A2DP technology, you'll enjoy crisp and clean stereo sound, including SiriusXM Satellite Radio (subscription required), with your compatible headset.

I have never understood music on a motorcycle.
Not bashing anyone, I just gon't get it. I see/hear Wings, UltraGlides, and other bikes at stop signs/lights with music blaring and wonder what enjoment the rider(s) get from their bike(s). May as well be in your car if you have to have tunes. At least you can text there too. I enjoy the sights/smells of a country ride (even the interstate) and cannot imagine music if commuting in traffic-seems you ought to really be paying attention to what is going on around you and not being into your music, whether it be classic rock, classical, jazz, or whatever-or fumbling to find a different station. Just my humble opinion. Am ready for the flaming-let 'er rip. |

It's a personal preference. I'm a traveler for example. I like to do cross country superslab trips. I'll often do music or even audio books when traveling 12-14 hour days. I use custom fit earphones that attenuate external noise almost as well as earplugs to save my hearing and nobody else can hear what I'm playing. GPS directions interrupt the MP3 audio as needed. In unfamiliar high traffic areas, or on a just beautiful day in the country, audio is off.

Pandora is a good choice for songs. The same stations on my home stereo are on my iphone. I use ear buds that block out most noise. I put the phone in the tank bag so it's easy to reach. I only change it when I'm stopped. I love music and it makes my riding experience better. I also listen to my purchesed song on my iphone. I have 500. I have a play list called "rollin" This playlist has song that fit rolling down the road. Born To Be Wild (Steppenwolf), Surfing With The Alien (Joe Satriani) and Roll On Down The Highway (BTO) to name a few.
