Last evening, I wrote a note to "Administrator" seeking permission to conduct the fundraiser within this forum. I am waiting to hear back from him/her.

After being out of town this past weekend, I have returned to still not having any response, (giving me permission) from the owner's of this forum.
I will host this fundraiser on my own website. I need a couple more days to organize the details. I appreciate your patience, and Thank You!!! Barry

I know others have stated that if they win they will give the bike back to you. I don't ascribe to that theory. However , like car shows, I think a full sized cardboard backed picture of you, like in your avatar, to place next to the bike would be the correct thing to do.
Otherwise people would think we just threw a bike off a cliff, drug it through 200 miles of mud, sand blasted it and painted it with Rhino liner and said it was your bike.

I took "new" photos of the bike yesterday, from all angles. They will emphasize the enhancements, and improvements, that I made to Suzuki's original design. There will be two partial spray cans of Rhinoliner included, along with a partial spray can of, Rustoleum Textured Porch Furniture paint, (what the rest of the bike is painted with), too. There is a good sized box of "spare parts", a couple of custom tools, and a pile of tires as well. I AM still alive and still "McGuvyering" my way through life. This past Saturday, I left Mount Desert Island, Maine at about 5am, and drove 5 hours down to Salem, MA where one of my daughters lives and works. I fixed her driver's side door window for her. If you would like to take a look at that experience, follow the link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=e8d3a7f5ed Afterwards, I drove to Exeter, NH where my sister and her husband live, and spent the night with them. On the drive on yesterday, I decided to stop in at L.L. Bean's flagship store, located in Freeport, Maine. If you would like to take a look at those photos, follow this link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=5aa2cd1970 When I got home, in the afternoon, I unpacked my car of all of the tools that I lugged down to Salem, then went to work on "fundraiser elements", for the rest of the evening. Tonight, I have a Ground School class. Tomorrow evening, I will be back to work on Fundraiser stuff. Barry PS: Want to see the sailboat I have been building? Luv ya Barry. Great idea on Strom disposal.
I came up with my own way. I have 83k miles now and assume that by the end of next year I will be at 100k. Since I always thought that it was good for 100k, in my mind it's done. Not being as civic minded as you, my solution was to give the bike to a friend who is currently between bikes. But I am just too cheap to give it away, so I will charge him the full list price for a 99% used up Strom. Which based on my Out The Door price of $6150 is $61.50. I suggest that you have provided a way for someone to make an associated donation without getting a chance to "win". I, like others here, already own at least one ugly bike and do not need to add an even uglier sibling. But I might just have an extra $61.50 that I don't know what to do with? For what it's worth I too have been looking for my next bike. I like my drz400s but would buy a klx250s if I had a do-over. I wasn't a fan of the BMW 650 or the versys after riding both. I really liked the ride on the tiger 800xc. I have not tried the new Strom yet,but for the price and track record, it is the one to beat. I hope to once again go on a Black Lab Adventure. I give you credit for altering my touring habits toward getting out of camp early. In one trip with you I realized that I could easily get another half day of riding in if I just got off earlier. My steering head replacement and other maintenance tasks would have been harder without your instructions. So long and thanks for all the fish.

Jumpin jigglybits, Barry. that is a beaut of a boat.
I'm looking forward to seeing your solution on the charity event. You may be surprised at how much you can raise. Good luck.

By tomorrow afternoon, I will have the fundraiser posted "live" on my website.
Until then, I wanted to share some photographs that I shot today. I left Mount Desert Island at 4:50am this morning, and arrived at Loki Clan Wolf Refuge at 9:10am. My work today was to, build two more dog houses. I had fantastic help from Nikki who is a self-taught, excellent carpenter! Late in the afternoon, it was "dog time", then I drove the 4 1/2hrs back home. Greywolf, these are for you! Barry ![]() ![]() ![]()
