I just saw pics of the 2014 DL1000 on Cycle World's website. Three pictures. Superficially it looks production ready with turn signals, plate holder.

Goodies include: USD forks, cleaner body work, ABS, front beak a la Multistrada or Triumph Explorer, blacked out engine, integrated pannier mounts, single exhaust with semi-low mount, nice red and black color scheme (on this example), and best of all it is reportedly coming to the USA.

Negative: no spoked wheels yet; may not be available until mid-to-late 2013

Comments: The price, weight, and hp could make or break this bike. My uneducated guess on price would be $11599 with ABS and without luggage. For that price I believe it would sell very well and would steal sales from the Tiger 800 and, because it could be a bargain, maybe the bigger ADV bikes even if it has less hp.

Summary: I like it. What do you guys think.

I don't understand why the fork is gold-colored. Is there some material advantage or that's just someone at Suzuki saying "I like goooooooold"?

Gold (anodized) forks are a trademark color of good quality suspensions manufactured by a Swedish company by the name Ohilns.
However, many high quality manufacturers today offer a clear anodize.
Without getting into the who's, where's and when's regarding that, my thoughts are that Suzuki wanted to bring attention to the new USD forks and what other color would do that better than the standard "gold".

once again, without tech specs, it's an exercise in futility.

i wont be purchasing a new bike based on looks only.
