Exactly the same happened to me today...back slid out what felt like 3 feet after a U turn. I had a huge grin on my face because I held it - feet up. I've had a couple of drops and a very long learning curve on this bike. Now I feel like I've got it sorted. I'm liking my Vee at last!

How many miles on them TW's? On my K7 after about 5K-6K miles the rear slid a lot in corners, enough where I had to alter my riding style. I also had uneven wear on the front. My Glee has about 5K but hasn't started acting that way yet! I was hoping they had changed the TW's for the better. I am fixing to make a trip to the Ozarks to ride some twisty's, and I still have a lot of rubber left, but I also have a set of new BT023's in the garage hmmmm!

I have about 4500 miles on them.

Don't feel bad. I picked my bike up and drove it 400 miles home. Then I spent the remainder of the day completely detailing it.

I was cleaning up around 8:00pm pretty tired from the day and such and bam it fell over. Knocked me down and gave me a sore leg for a week.

I did not even know how it happened. I think I had the bars in my hand and may have slightly moved the bike forward turning them and the stand just barley started to disengage. That's all it took.

I laid there thinking crud (well that is the clean version). I picked the bike up and set it on the stand.

I learned 3 things about the bike.

1. Its not very heavy to pick back up for me.
2. The side stand will retract easier than you can blink
3. It can fall without much damage (clutch lever and turn signal but that is it)

My center stand is in the mail and the bike is looking better now with the clear lenses I ordered when I replaced the signal

Woo hoo! Add me to the first drop list! I rode my bike to the office, pulled into a parking space, put the stand down, put my feet down, held the bars to dismount, and as I was just climbing off, the kickstand folded up and the bike dumped over to the left with me on it. I was able to lift it back up and no harm was done. My theory of using an Agri-Supply tool tube on each side of my HB crashbars to absorb crashes worked. There is no damage to the bike other than the bottom mounting bracket of the tool tube, which broke all the way through. I have a spare tool tube at home to replace it.

My theory was that the bike must have moved forward a bit, or the kickstand foot moved on a little bump on the asphalt.

Guess I'll have to add my name to garage dumpers club. Can't say how this happened, either, but I was sitting on my bike in the garage, getting ready to back it out. Somehow the sidestand had gotten partially retracted and over it went! Right onto my wife's bike. Fortunately we were parked close enough that it didn't fall very far, and it leaned against her saddlebag. No harm done, not even s smudge, for which I was very grateful, as I had already put a scratch on her gas tank. Only damage was to my pride, and I felt like an idiot for not paying better attention to what I was doing. AND--no one saw!!

So what is the techincal definition of a "drop". If you drop but catch it and there is no damage, is that a drop? Or is it hands off, hits something else and there is visible damage?

I think my SW Motech Rally style crash bars saved the turn signal

Add me to the list. It was dark and didn't visually make sure the kickstand stayed down. It was your typical bonehead drop.
