So I'm "dumb" and " an idiot " because I let someone else do my tire changeovers?

I have spent zero hours in the rain changing tires.

I use ride on.

Most of us don't work at a tire shop and have the experience. Or a place large enough to house the tools.

All that being said, I'm looking to buy a mounting tool and do it myself in the future, since I pull the wheels for the shop anyway (they charge $17.50). And I have a 40x90 shop so plenty of room.

I guess I was off put by your insults and your revelation as a tire shop guy that there is less chance of damage if you do it yourself rather than take it to a tire shop.

I do change my own and have for the last 20-30 tires,BUT after fighting with one yesterday if there had been a shop next door I would have let them do it.
I was mounting a NOS winter ( trials ) tire on my hack and it would not pop out and seat up,after pulling it off the rim 3 times I finally put in a tube and all was well!!.

Today I mounted up my front " snow " tire
and it took less than 10 minutes to get the old tire off and the new one on.I guess the the tire changing gods liked me today .....
