Last year I looked at other bikes because we had not had any luck finding a decent seat. We'd tried stock, Suzuki gel seat, and Corbin. I didn't find a bike I liked better than my Wee so I bit the bullet and got a Russell Day Long. Wow! So far we're loving it even though we've only put 300-350 miles on to date. So much better than any of the others. Definitely worth the money if you want to do long rides. We were only good for about an hour at a time with the Corbin and that was the best we'd found before the RDL.

Add to that the fact that I replaced my HJC with an Arai helmet, and I'm good to go for hours at a time!

< $1500 between the two and it's a whole new game.

Isn't it funny how a couple of comfort issues can totally transform riding? I've always said, you can have everything on your bike perfect with all the right gear, but if you're riding around with a knife in your back it's still no fun. One pain point and what should be a great experience can be terrible.

When I found my 2012 Wee, the seller was giving me a run-down on the accessories. When he got to the RDL, he said, "You go on a long ride and your wrists may hurt, your knees may hurt, your neck may hurt...your ass will not not hurt."

By and large, I have to agree. The only seats I have to compare it to are the stock seats on my '98 Kawasaki Concours and '83 Honda Nighthawk 550. Night and day difference, for sure. The only time I got a bit of a crick in the caboose was near the end of a 400+ mile day, and that I'll chalk up to my desire to push through and not take a break during my last 90 miles.

Last year I did a pretty decent trip with most days between 800 - 1100 km's (500 - 690 miles/day). That was for 10 days, every day.

My setup that made that possible:
1. Givi Windshield
2. Airhawk seat
3. MCCruise (electronic cruise control)

Have tried other seats, but my butt itches and aches after 1 - 2 hours.

I had the RDL seat...didn't care for the "wings". Just was not comfortable for in city riding when there was lots of need for putting feet down repeatedly. On the highway it was fine...but since I live in a very big metro area and ride every day, just wasn't the right choice for me.

I've tried stock, gel, Corbin, and others. Finally landed on the regular Sargent seat. Used it for over 40K miles...including separate trips to Alaska, Canada, Smokies, Ozarks, and Pacific NW. To me, this was the best solution.
