New 2014 DL1000 owner. Question

Hello everyone! I just became a luck guy as I bought a 2014 DL1000 from the dealer with only 176 miles. Here is my concern, they told me that it was built over a year ago but has been sitting in the show room and that it was not officially a demo except when people occasionally asked to test ride it. My bike was built by Suzuki in January 2014 and the maintenance chart in the owner’s manual says to replace the engine oil at 600 miles or at 2 months. The clutch & brake fluid every 2 years and the clutch, fuel & brake hose every 4 yrs. as well as coolant replacement at 4 yrs.
When does this timetable start? When Suzuki built the bike in January of 2014? When the dealer built the bike about a year ago? Or when I bought it yesterday?

I plan on keeping this bike for a long time but don't want to spend all that money to correct/maintain the bike if unnecessary.
Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Welcome to the club, its a great bike!
I would change the oil now and then start the clock on all of the fluids, changing the oil again in 600 miles and so on...

Silverhare its in your best interest and safety to ensure the bike you ride is safe. Its probably under $200 to have all the fluids replaced and I bet you got a far better deal for the bike than that as the dealer was offloading a now 3 year old NOS bike.

Engine oil for running in not such a risk but still not good age wise. But the brake fluid, that's your Rs on the line. If it were me I would drop them all and start afresh. That way you know your safe and the bikes in good order and psychologically it wont ever be playing on your mind if anything starts to seem strange in the future.
