I'm researching which tires to buy when the originals wear out and thought I'd call the dealer where I'd bought the bike to see what they could do. I didn't expect them to meet the prices I have been able to find on the net but if close I might have chosen to support them.
After 'looking into it' for half an hour, the parts lady told me none of her distributors carried tires that would fit and they would have to order straight from Suzuki - $180 for the front Trailwing, $200+ for the back  :?
This is of course after I knew I could get the pair for $192 delivered from Southwest Moto - Tourances for $208.
Yelling at her would have accomplished nothing so I said thank you and hung up. This is the same lady who told me she couldn't find the part number of those little wire hooks that the helmets hang on. My bike didn't come with any so I wanted them to get me some - she said they don't exist.
The 'head mechanic' who did the after buy walkthru barely knew what he was talking about. Told me I should put premium in her and told me to keep her under 4000 rpm (instead of 5000) for the first 500 miles of the breakin.
I had a great buying experience at the shop and they are nice, friendly people but their lack of knowledge about my bike is becoming exasperating.
I know the bike is technically new but as the love child of the DL1000 and SV650 these people shouldn't be this ignorant about it. Anyone else have similar problems?
