It would seem to me that a lot of people are following the same riding pattern as me? Wake up on the weekend and it's a nice day, go for a couple hundred k's derby round the countryside without a whole lot of planning except maybe which direction you are going. Snack for lunch if you are out that long then wander home to do 'non-ride' stuff in the afternoon/evening. Maybe you swap it around and get the other stuff done early and ride in the afternoon - whatever. I do quite a bit of this - often by myself. It's not that I don't like to ride with other people, it's that the organization that goes into it is a pain. I didnt buy a bike to organize stuff - I wanna ride! I've wondered if we make this thread a 'sticky' and post (dis)organized rides and meeting details in here, people might be able to get up on the weekend, check this thread and wander along to our rides if their plans happen to fall into line? No replies necessary (no 20 back and forth posts to organize) - no guarantees the 'organizer' or anyone else will show - no expectations - just ride happening, meeting place - a rough guide to where you're going - be there if you want - contact details if you're brave. Do not expect anybody to show up to your ride and if you are showing up to somebody else's ride it's possible they might not show. Plans change, stuff gets in the way - expect to ride by yourself if necessary - you were probably going to anyway. Any discussion about what did or didnt happen should get it's own thread - as should BIG rides that require more organization. I guess we'll judge it's success by the amount of rides that show up. .
