I am going to purchase the DL650 on Thursday and would love to go with input on the "out the door" prices some of you have paid. Thanks in advance for the replies.

I paid 6400 OTD last Saturday in Tulare CA. I've heard of 6200 OTD in LA. Dealer cost is somewhere around 5300. Good luck.

Well today I purchased the 650 in black. I paid MSRP plus some dealer B.S. $ But they gave me too much for my trade and a free $180 jacket and I don't care about the extra cost. The joy of riding the bike home made it worth every penny!!!!! :D

i'm paying the equivalent of about 6350 OTD on new leftover Black 04 dl650. southern usA. I specifically wanted black. if i had been willing to take blue, i could have gotten out for 100-200 less; no more.

I'm a hard shopper and this is the best deal. couldn't get any more off the top, but I did get a very-fair trade on a 2001 street bike. that's unusual for this time of year

FWIW, I was quoted a price a week ago on a Red 05 out the door which includes freight and setup, no tax or tags as I'm out of state of $6236.
I thought it was a fair price, but I'm going to wait until after the first of the year due to Missouri property taxes, I've got a bike now(99 BMW F650) and it's not really good riding weather here now.
Do the rest of you feel it's a fair price?

I would say thit if you are trading in the Beemer...and they are giving you alot for it...it is a good price. Just rember that it is your money and only pay what it is worth to you!

By the way, why are you switching (or just adding) to the v-strom? Is it just more suited for you over the BMW?

I will sell the BMW after I get the V-Strom and I know I like it better(which I'm sure I will).
My reasons for going to the 650 V-Strom is more power, dealers are 100 miles closer than BMW, and I'm just ready for a change. The 99 F650 has been bulletproof, (Only repair besides consumables is a fork seal) I bought it with 5000 miles and it now has 29,000 in 2 1/2 years. It is a great bike, I'm just ready for a change.

I paid 6,000.00 for a 2004 last month. I also picked up Crashguards, a top case, Motor guard, hand guards, and a center stand. Im still well under 7,000.00.

For what it's worth, a fellow at the DL650 group on Yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DL650/) just this week picked up a new 04 black DL650 for $5840 including setup & freight, but not title or sales tax.

The best deal I've found in my area (north western Virginia) is about $5,900 just over the border in West Virginia. I'll be getting one there soon, just want to see if Santa comes through first.

Sorry Dave, Im in Germany. The prices are going up for some reason. I guess they are selling well. I don't like the x19 model ( European) with the black frame. Yuck. :x

Glad I got Silver when I did. It has a distingished/reserved look about it.

Stuck with the 05 black frame here. They didn't have any 04 models left. Got out the door for $8300 US. (DL 1000)

Yesterday, I picked up my new 05 DL650. Put 102 miles on it after noon yesterday.I sold my 99 BMW F-650 faster than I thought I would.
My deal was $5999 out the door, and I pay sales tax and tags to the state when I licence it. I had to work on the dealer a while to get this deal, most others were in the 6100 to 6235 range.

I'm in NE Missouri

I just took delivery of a Black DL1000k5 and the best I could do locally was $8500 OTD, and that was with a lot of back and forth, dealer to dealer negotiating. Apparently the dealers in this area are selling every unit they get with an average floor time of less than 2 weeks, so they are not willing to move very much on price.

The price I mentioned does not include VA sales tax and DMV fees.

I live in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, DC.
