Went to the Whenuapai Airshow on Sat for a ride.
They had the NZ navy there with 2 Sea Sprites that did some amazing formation flying

There was a display team of ex USSR Yaks, which despite my derrogatory 'Lada of the sky' comment were actually awesome to watch and the sound of a big radial piston engine is always magic.

And of course there was a P51D Mustang which is THE Shelby Cobra of the sky.

Also flying was; a Typhoon, a Messerschmidt 108, a RAAF F111[huge afterburner action and noise!] and our own RNZAF; Hercules, P3 Orion, and 757, all of which were put thru their paces in true air force style. Thrashed! The most awesome to watch was the 757 pulling up short and hauling right in a 'quite sickening to watch' fashion.
