First off, I like this new forum... great idea to seperate the electronic farkles. Now the question.... has anyone any experience with the Nady Mrc-11x radio. I don't want to cheap out... but here is my situation: when I ride it is without anything except the earplugs. I don't really care about the cell phone... that is why they can leave a message. Aux music would be nice and is an available feature. Here is the manufacturer's site for more info: http://www.nady.com/mrc11x_motorcycle_pg.html
The reason that I am looking at this is because have recently found someone to ride with me. I have tried hand signals.... but that almost lead to smoke signals... it is easy to get frustrated, and the cages are too busy on their cellphones to take notice of bikes.
I have seen the others... the big names, but consider that I wouldn't use it enough to justify the price. It's something that would get used infrequently... maybe only less than 6 times a year for two way with another bike, even less if I was going to use it to talk with companion cage that I would be traveling with. This one is generally available for around $60-$70.
I have heard a lot of bad reviews about the Nady MRC, but couldn't figure out what the problem could have been. IMHO if you have the 210 db exhaust pipes going, how could you expect to hear anything over them. For the most part, the Wee is a quiet bike. I don't expect to communicate at anything over 70 mph.
If anyone knows of a low cost alternative (under $200)... I would love to hear about it. If not, I may take a chance and then review.
thanks in advance,
James
