I'm buying an 07 DL1000 in a few weeks. Does anyone know where I can get the best deal in Eastern Mass? How much can I expect to get off of the MSRP?

Unless you're paying cash, I figure you'll do better by shopping for the best deal on the financing. I paid msrp for the bike at South Shore in QuinZy because they're close and they had what I wanted, but my financing was only 4.99% from Bridgewater Credit Union.

Bettencourts in West Bridgewater will prolly deal on price based on past experience.

When I was ready to buy my DL650 in 2005, I called every Suzuki dealer in a 250 mi. radius. I tried Bettencourts because I had bought so many bikes from Dick over the years. Every dealer in Eastern Massachusetts including Bettencourts wanted full MSRP $6699.00 or more. I had always gotten good deals there but Dick has passed away and they only had one strom left and knew they could get full price. His son Mark might give you a good deal though.

I called Cycle Design in Phillipston,MA where I bought my Penton Jackpiner 175 back in 1972, and an '83 Suzuki GS1100EZ and got killer deals on them. His price for the Strom was $5750.00 with no BS add ons. The owners name is Doug Mulligan. He's a good guy. Give them a try if you don't mind travelling.

I have found that you always get a better price from the dealerships that are out in the boonies. Lower overhead. I'm always willing to travel for a good deal.

Cheapest bike or best dealer? The best dealer that I know of is Plaistow Powersports in, of all places, Plaistow NH. They usually give me a prety good deal, but then I'm in every year or two to buy a new bike there. The service is excelent, as is the parts department. It might not be the cheapest deal in town but it's a great place to form a relationship.

List price on the 07 1k is $8999 and dealer cost is just under $7500

Spring is the time of year that you won't see many deals, especially this early in the buying season

Don't accept any BS about additional charges for freight & setup, suzuki gives the dealer an allowance for setup

I also recommend declining extended warranties, even if they offer one to you at their cost, they are not worth the money IMHO

this time of year unless you have an established relationship with a dealer, I wouldn expect any real deals

I recommend establishing a relationship with a dealer that's not so big that the sales, part & service people don't know each other

I deal with Rochester MotorSports in rochester, NH but they are pretty far for you. I've heard good things about the previously mentioned Plaistow Powersports, but have never personally dealt with them, I've also heard good about Bettencourts

I couldn't agree more with noreaster. The last thing I want is to have some problem with my bike only to have my cheese left hanging out in the wind by some dealer that forgot my name the same day that I picked up my bike.

My dealer, CT Power and Sport, Wallingford CT, give a decent and fair price but offer great service. I am in the process of buying a new Vee. They let me buy all my addons like engine crash guards, GPS wiring and a bunch of other stuff and they will install it all for free. That's just typical of their service. I don't wrench so this works out well for me.

I have found one of the cheapest dealers in the nation (their claim) Columbia Motorsports, Columbia CT. They pump out about 2000 units per year. The flipside of great prices is their charging for every ounce of service. I guess you can't have both. If you do your own wrenching, this might be the best choice.

I really want black anyways so I wasn't too disappointed.

I have an 05 but would like to get an ABS model. I'm going to start looking for one in a week or two.

South Shore said they're getting one in October (08?), but don't seem to deal, and their email manner was not conducive. Bettencourt was quite responsive, but didn't have one in stock.

I've heard a number of folks have purchased from the dealer in Troy, NY at great prices. Anyone deal with them?

Note to self: if you're trying to sell your V-Strom on Craigslist (http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/mcy/413487446.html), posting pictures from killboy may not make for a rapid sale.....

I paid list for my '07 ABS from South Shore in early May. I like the people there. While I was doing paperwork and trading in my '05, there were two calls looking for an ABS model from other dealers, including Bettencourts, who didn't order any. Unless availability improves around here, they'll keep getting list. Of course, $7199 for this bike with ABS is still a great deal, imho.

I paid $8065 out the door including NH paperwork at Nault's Suzuki in Manchester, NH. I haven't seen a better price.

I bought my 07' Wee from Excalibur Powersports (http://www.excaliburpowersports.com/) in Plainfield CT. It was worth the ride down from Worcester MA.

I am shopping for a Vee and was looking to go new. But I got to tell you, I may end up picking up used one. There are some great deals out there and these damn things sound like they are bulletproof.

Bill at GBM treated me very well when I bought my '05 leftover last year, he worked over in the BMW side usually I think.

Bill is a great guy and I highly recomend going through him, I used to work there awhile back and hes the only one left from that time (BK was actually my sales manager) Plus the general feel of the place is more open without the little offices now, and being walking distance from my apt has cemented it as my main dealer. Only if they carried ducs too
