Today's repair call was in a nice quiet place since it's the off-season. Nice day. Zero wind and air temps 45-50F.

Pretty nice Tom. I'm surprised at the picks. I was in Methuen today and there was sill plenty of snow and lots of wind. The temps were nice in the sun, but the shade was brutal. Granted, you were further south, but not that much so. How long a ride from your place?

Of course it's tough to get the big bucks. :-D

And to Dan: We got a LOT of rain last week south of Boston before everything froze up. Two inches of rain here in Braintree. Yesterday's trip was about 50 miles each way. Damn shame about the cah being in the shop.

Oh yeah, I got a Sargent seat and it's excellent. Haven't been on a ride for longer than 90 minutes at a time yet, but that long on the stock seat was killer for me.

I tried gel, and both the 650 and 1000 seats. Sold the gel. The other two are available.

Sargent seats are great! I love mine.

I think there are a lot of people around in the same situation. We're erroneously called business owners when it's a job that we own.

Every company I was part of went out of business (including one I owned), so I work for myself. Having the phone ring seven days a week for 24 years ain't easy, nor is the variable income or the ability to stay motivated. I don't see an alternative, or an inheritance, so I do try to make the best of it.

Tom,

Is the Sargent higher? Compared to the stocker, will my feet be searching for Earth? I have a short inseam.

Tom,

Is the Sargent higher? Compared to the stocker, will my feet be searching for Earth? I have a short inseam.

No great long legs here either. My mother has 'em, but Dad's were only 27". In sixth grade, I made the mistake of telling him I was bigger than he was. After I got pinned to the wall, I was told I was taller.

I usually wear 30 or 32 inch inseam. I could flatfoot the 650 with both feet when it was stock and on level ground, but it felt better with a little flex in my legs after installing the 3/4" lowering links.

The Sargent feels lower than stock, but you've also got your jewels closer to the tank so it's a shorter distance to the ground. This bothered me on the first ride because it felt like a different bike, but I didn't notice at all the second time I took it out.

I've been using an Airhawk for the past year or so. I love it, but having a proper seat is a much better option. The Sargent works for me.
