I just test rode a KLR 650 today and will be looking at a DR 650 this weekend. I really have an itch to get one of these super-outdated but cheap dualsports. It sure brings back memories.


I've never ridden anything remotely similar to a V-Strom (Just dirtbikes and cruisers) Anyone wanna let me take one for a short (street length) test ride?

I used to have a KLR 650. Great bike and lots of fun but a much different beast than my DL1000. I would love to pick up another KLR.

If you can get only one bike, and you want to hit some fire roads and don't plan on long highway tours, the KLR is more versatile, not to mention cheaper. It's also got a great aftermarket and a great support community (second to none, in my experience).

Rancho Cucamonga here. Just got a DL1000. Would have joined you on the Big Bear ride, but my cruiser club had a ride planned to Joshua Tree.

I just rode through Big Bear yesterday. I was making up for missing the ride on Saturday with the other Stroms.
