View Full Version : I need clutch help
I have a 02, I changed the oil and didn't measure it out. I put a bit to much oil in and have since drained the excess. Now my clutch slips real bad. I only have 11,000 miles on it. Do you think running 30 miles or so with 1/2 qt. of extra oil would burn out my clutch plates? what should I start with??

Can't see that causing that problem.

What kind of oil did you put in?
I am not sure what you used But
Many synthetics are too slippery and cause the clutch to just spin
rather than lock up.......
If you did that just drain it and put an oil in it that meets the proper standards for the bike.... (per the manual SF or SG, API Standard)
if you went away from that standard... could be your problem
No Problem.. it probably will not have hurt anything.. just drain and replace..
I have heard of this before on other bikes
Chris
the oil I used is honda line oil. SJ SAE 20-50 GN4. I don't think this oil would cause the clutch to slip. It gets worse as it warms up.
??? I guess I will bite the bullet and take it to the local shop. If anyone has any other suggestions I would rather fix it myself than take it to the shop.
Thanks
Ty
