Just wondering if I'm the only one. I'd love to meet up with other Strom riders and experiemtn with some routes that I couldn't take on my GSXR. I know a few areas around that I would go on a dual-sport, but not so much on a more substantial mount!

Hey there!
My Wee-Strom hasn't even been ordered yet (next week, after taxes- then it becomes a "Wheee-Strom) but I'm about 4-5 hours away in chicagoland.
I have some riding friends in WI too, so maybe a tr-state get together could happen once spring hits...
Peace,
River

I'm in Springfield, IL, later this spring/summer I could be talked into a DS ride. It would have to be a pretty easy one since I have about 3 miles of dirt total experience. I just got my 1000K6 and haven't had much time to try it out.

squash,
I'm over in Mascoutah IL, just on the other side of Scott AFB. There's also a Wee rider in town. I've only ridden with him a couple of short local rides. We're both pretty conservative riders.
My neighbor and I often hit Arcadia Valley down around Ironton and areas south/east. Lots of good curvy paved roads. He rides a BMW GT, so we pretty much stick to the pavement. I have seen a lot of gravel roads leading off the County roads that look interesting.
Here's a link to my page. There's a few MO pictures on it.

Let me know if you want to do some light off-roading some Saturday. I can check with my strom buddy to see if he 's interested also. I just made the switch from street to strom last year, so I'm not yet comfortable doing serious river crossings and the such.

I'm in STL and would love to meet up with some fellow Strommers for a ride. Ironton is a great place, we should set something up for a nice cruise.

I have an opportunity to purchase a HD Sporty 1200 for a great price but have never riden one. I am going to Lebanon, MO tomorrow to go to the HD dealer to sit on it..I expect to not buy one though.....why would I? My buddy has a 05 Wee Storm and he let me ride it and WOW was I impressed, hmm let me see do I want the HD that everyone else has, or the fun and comfortable Wee......oh yea, there is a Suzuki dealer in Leb as well, might be coming home with a new one.....that is probably more likely the case!!!!
Are there any "Riders of the Storm" in the Fort Leonard Wood, Mo area...I really wana do the fire roads and trails in the Mark Twain National Forest! I got miles and miles in my back yard to play on.....If I get this thing anybody from STL or anywhere ever come out this way to ride? Let me know!!
Hey Aimpoint_m68,

Bought my wee end of August, and have yet to ride that scenic stretch near the current and jacks fork river. Think that part would be nice. The rally was great, but highway 70 up and back was quite boring. Lots of 2 lane fun in Missouri. Agreed. Lets get together for a ride some time.

Thinking about checking out Council Bluffs Lake. Have heard this is a great camping spot, good bike trails(mtb), nice ccc structures, and in the midst of great 2 lane riding. Anyone up for a ride down in that area?

Rode down the next day to council lakes bluff. Took 21 down to P, then C and DD. BMW motorcycle falling leaf rally occurred that weekend, saw bikes down every 2 lane road. Unbelievable ride, even in misty rain. Got down there looked at sites, nice boat launch, but beach was gated, forgot was on a bike, should have ridden around. Anyway, missed the great ccc structures, but saw a great sunset with fall colors. Rode back up DD, P, and 21. Great ride down there. Have a planned party tomorrow or would ride down again. Be safe, and watch out around blind corners for locals in your lane....

I'm from St. Louis as well, West County area. Oh2RideMore, I went with a group from work in October down some of the roads you mention (isn't DD the best?), we went the long way around to Sikeston to eat at Lambert's. There was everything from a Yamaha FJX to a GSX-R to a Valkyrie on the ride. It was a lot of fun, 465 miles round trip.

Just ordered:
Heated grips, hand guards, Givi windscreen and Madstad mount. Who's up for some cold weather riding?

Which heated grips did you buy, and how do you plan on installing them? Still have not installed mine, got the flexible printed circuit ones to install under grips. Can not decide on the easy grip puppy install or the harder pro grip installation. Either way am up for ride. Always up for some 2 lane action.

I actually got the Suzuki factory heaters. I installed them myself last night but I don't have grip cement so I only got half of it done, although, they're all wired up to the factory harness. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes to get rocket hot but damn, they get toasty.
I also installed the hand guards as well but haven't had a chance to get out and test them because of my cement problem. I'm picking some up tonight and will finish/test if the weather permits.
My new windscreen and madstad should show up by the end of the week!

I live in Swansea, IL, right across the river. I don't ride mine off-road, but love to ride the Missouri twisties. Got a buddy with a Wee, also. He just got married, so his riding is Whip-Limited now. I ride EVERY Sunday, weather permiting. Give me a PM if you want to ride.
