Looks like a road weapon to me. I noticed the tetralever rear suspension is a BMW copy. Should be a nice bike.

Agreed! The bike is VERRRRY appealing to me. It's got everything I could ask for: Shaft Drive, ABS, FI and tons of POWER.

There looks like a lot to love about the new Connie. I've got an ST1300ABS, and I've used the tip over bars once (not intentionally) and really appreciate the savings of not replaceing a lot of tupperware. When I look at Sport tourers now, I tend to look to see if there is anywhere one can put sliders or something to protect it from even a small tip over. The after market will find it maybe like they did with the FJR. This bike is tempting but too close to what I use the ST for, and it is paid for.

You'll never need to worry about this bike tipping over, LOOK, see how it just stands there. Now that is balanced.

When pics of the new Connie first were published, and Suzuki reported that sales of the DL1000 were low a bit, I wrote in that The DL1000 should be redressed up a bit to compete with the BMW RT, the Connie and the ST1300.Suzi should put an electric windscreen, hard bags, power outlets, etc

First they would have to address the power issue for farkles and such. Extra lighting and heated gear don't seem to be a concern with Suzuki.

I looked at a '03 Connie today. Might hold off for a year or so to see where this thing goes.
