Picked up my yellow '03 DL1000 today, bought it from a guy here in town (PDX) from craigslist.
Came with full set of hard bags (top and sides), heated grips, center stand, 12V accessory outlet and wired for heated jackets (rider and passenger). Oh, and two windscreens.
I'm too excited!!!!
Too bad it was too icy to ride today :(
Now, who wants to buy my Yellow VF750C Magna :D

I'll need to look into the Reno trip more and see what vacation I'll have left by that time, but definately hope to meet up now that I'm official and all. I'll keep tabs here regularly now.
Thanks for letting me have a sit on the bike at lunch, it helped...

Well that answer is Easy.........Paint it BLACK !! then it'll move so fast that the other colors in the spectrum are just absorbed into its wake:-D:rolleyes:

Now don't go blaming me for this.... unless you are buying adult beverages
I don't want to be the target for your wife's venting...
I hope you enjoy your bike as much as I have enjoyed mine.
Stay tuned, we will have plenty of riding before the Reno trip...

Mirage,
Welcome to the group of Strom riders. Definitely a great bike! Now, if this weather can ever improve a bit so we can get to riding.

Welcome to the group Mirage!
Glad you were finally able to make the switch. How bout your riding buddy? They're easy to convert, just let him take a spin. Worked on my brother. 2 weeks after riding mine, he bought a K6 1K. Loves it. Doesn't ride his Harley anymore.
It's looking like we may have a breakfast get together next Saturday(1/13) to discuss the Reno trip and Stromming in general. You're welcome to come.
Yellow is a great color for visability. As far as which color is fastest, if your riding a different bike, it doesn't matter. All you're going to see is two white lights coming up fast in your mirror, next second all you see is a red tail-light getting smaller quickly. So, as long as you have head-lights, a tail-light and a Strom inbetween, you are the fastest.

What do you mean "improve"...It was a wonderfully crisp and clear morning today, so I rode it in to work ;)
It was a balmy 19F o_O (glad the previous owner installed the heated grips)...

Heh, it was my riding buddy (currently on a Honda VFR 650) who first started talking about the stroms and got me hooked. I just managed to land one before him ;)

What time and where?

I'm just a sucker for yellow...fast or not. My other bike is a yellow Magna. I like it for the visability factor, and just cause I don't see many of them around, so it stands out.

Just be careful riding home and watch out for those shaded corners.
I attended a funeral last week for a guy that hit an icy corner and paid the ultimate price. I would like to not do that again any time soon.
Better weather as in Dry roads, are just around the corner... I can't wait.
I ride in this stuff too... but I am retty careful, maybe moreso now than I was before. It happens so fast and I don't want to do that to my family.
Anyway, I need to cowboy up and get my heated grips on.

Thanks for the care and concern. I was quite carefull on the way in as there are several spots for potential hidden ice. I'm sure I was annoying the drivers behind me, but tough, they'll get over it.
It's always sad and sovering to hear to hear of a fellow riders death.
I'll be carefull tonight. I plan to leave before dark, around 4-4:30pm, so that'll help some.
