Has anybody tried these:

?
Generally I'm looking into turn-signal replacement/flush mounts.

Here's a link (http://www.craigcentral.com/bikes/turnsignals.asp) to a couple of photos of the front of my 650 with Lockhart-Phillips flush-mounts on it:

You report that you used 3M tape to mount the signals and that the 3M tape is nearly permanent. How would one remove the tape if it was ever necessary to replace the signal?

Believe it or not it peels off relatively easily. Well, not really peels off but rolls off. I've stuck things down with it and then pulled them off a couple of years later. They never blow off, shake off, but when you are ready to get them off it will happen. Really cool stuff to have around.
