took Mrs LAV[Jo] for a ride up our lovely east coast about 1hr from home. First place we stopped was at the goat farm where they have been milking Saanens for years. Used to be popular but these are the only guys I am aware of still doing it.

Then we stopped at Helena Bay, the house at the end of the beach up on the bank is one I built

Next stop was Oakura where we helped a bunch of Harley riders with NO tools!

Then we detoured to Bland Bay, the terraced hill upper left is a fine example of a fortified 'Pa' which the Maori are legendary for. They taught the English all about trench warfare in a very humiliating way.

Continuing on up north, we did another 20km or so and then flicked up something that holed our sump, ending our day out! This is Taupiri Bay, beautiful little spot with very helpful and friendly locals. Check out the oil streak on the road!

Dude, that sucks. Hopefully the Strom is back in operation soon. The weather and scenery look awesome, and if it were me, I wouldn't want to miss any of it.
