Anywho, kinda cool to see pics of my other stomping grounds. If I'm at my other home (SLT) at that time I might drop by. Would non-Strom riders be welcome? (my Strom might be back in AZ).

Providing that classes don't interfere I'll be attending this event. I missed it last year due to finals. Don't want to miss it twice.

I think I might like to get in on this trip this year. I'd been looking for a long trip to do this late spring/early summer. Add me as a solid 90% yes. And if anyone else from the NW decides to go, lets group up for the trip south...

Yes, I see you put a few miles on, hence your stomping ground(s) cover many areas. Great to see your enthusiasm, fun and energy to our great sport.
Yes, you are welcome on any bike you peddle in on. If you decide to do it, let me know how we can help. some good folks at this gathering, ...which balances things out for those of us who aren't :-)

I am really glad I will be able to meet up with some riders as the come from the East as they are on their way to reno for this. I wish we could make if for the whole event, but we will be on our way to Alaska, hopefully in enough time to break the world record. By the end of the Event Sunday night we should be only three days from Prudhoe bay, Alaska. I really hope a whole bunch of you will be able to make it out to ride with us. I noticed in the "already registers" list that a fellow Albertan, Rob Evans, that I know from my Dual Sport Group will be attending.

Hope to see lots of you there,
Rob Noble

Myself - Yellow (is there any other color) and My Girlfriend, Debi - Blue 2005 DL1000 (2003 Sporster Anniversary Edition) are planning on making the trip. We're located in Orange County and think it would be a hoot to get a group and head to Sonora. Anyone else in the area planning on making the trek?

UPDATE 25Jan 2007

More details on the gathering are now availabile:

IMPORTANT UPDATE on the East Pre-Gathering:
--To best accomodate the NOBLEQUEST folks on their amazing journey, the pre-gathering spot will be in ELY on May31. BUT, instead of Utah, the Noblequest posse will be in Las Vegas the night of May30 and are eager to ride with Stromers from Las Vegas to Ely on the 31st! This is quite an opportunity! So, plan on being in Ely on May31 and ideally ride from Las Vegas to Ely with the Nobles on this day.
What could be more fun than doing this? Well, how about getting to Vegas the night of the 30th and Welcoming them and share stories! More details forthcoming on the Vegas meeting spots.

Sonora:
Bareman has recently took Sonora by Strom and has lined up some great stuff -and is teasing us with some info --as to what Sonora will about.
Most important: The place to be and stay is the Country Inn Sonora. He's also got some dinner plans in the works as well as getting routes prepared for all skills and wants.
This is going to be one heck of a good time.

Details on all the gathering stuff here (http://www.goraiders.org/renovstromgathering07/)

Any updates on planned routed from Kfalls to Reno? I am wondering what the main group has in mind...likey most of this discussion will be in Klamath Falls, with people sharing their thoughts.

If you've got a route, certainly you may want to share it ....also, no harm in trying to get some dialogue before meeting up in Klamath Falls.

I have a route that I enjoy when I got that way. It will take you through Adin, Dana, and then the back way around/into burney Falls (via clark Creek Road, then Subway caves, Mt. Lasen (if you wish) and some other good spots. I'll share this route and maps for one idea of the bizzillion options that you guys will have. Maybe guys will want to ride together, maybe not, most will likely decide what they want to do in Klamath Falls. ..disussing it all over bench racing, food and fun.

I'm considering heading out to Reno from Ga., but would not be leaving until the weekend before, which would be the 26th or 27th. Maybe meet up with the group in Ely on Thursday. I'm looking at a southern route out, heading due west from B'ham, through north Texas, Albuquerque, Page Az., Ely and Reno.

I still have work and home issues to resolve before I know for sure, but it is looking better..! If anyone else from the South or along that route might be leaving around the same time and would want to meet, let me know..

Route back is still open. I might have to be in Denver for work the week after, which would be just perfect..!

My only problem, I haven't got me a V-Strom "yet" still shopping.

There were a few on KSL Classifieds a few weeks ago. A 650 and 1000. IIRC the 650 was a good deal.

Alas, sad to say I'm out this year.. :-( It is just too close to our 30th anniversary. By the time I made flight/lodging reservations for this little celebration, the travel margin for Reno was reduced by a few days. Simply not doable. Unless of course, we could move the Reno gathering up a week..;)

Not sure the Reno Website says it very well. http://www.goraiders.org/renovstromgathering07/pre.html (scroll down about half way). Anyone else going through Ely?

Don't PM me in June, PM me in May. LOL Before the meet.

UPDATE 22May 2007

INFORMATION ON SHIRTS:
---For those of you who were part of last year's fun ....you'll recall that Bob Pennington supplied the shirts ......and did a wonderful job.
Bob did this all on his own -his own blood, sweat and money to put them together.

Well unfortunately, Bob will not be able to attend this year.....
BUT, he has stepped up yet again and will be supplying T-Shirts nonetheless.

So, here is the drill and you'll want to move fast:
Shirts are $18.00ea
Order them directly from Bob via Paypal rnp@tpgtex.com
**Give your registration #, your Name and Your SIZE with your papal payment!!
If you don't do paypal, send an email to Bob and work something out.

Bob will ship the shirts to the gathering -so you'll get them then!!

Thanks again Bob, you're a real prince of a guy!!

--------------------
Other news .....
THANKS to the MANY who have confirmed for the dinners. Check your status ...and if you're not confirmed you won't be part of those festivities :( .
If you have been overlooked -PLEASE LET ME KNOW. If you are not confirmed but want to participate in Friday and/or Saturday PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! It is important that we have accurate head count on these.
check your status here(clicky) (http://www.goraiders.org/renovstromgathering07/renogathering07Registration.htm)

-The response has been fantastic ...Boomtown has something like 150nights/rooms reserved/guaranteed under our code. This is awesome and way beyond last year.
-Tom Chase has taken the lead on Dog Valley Campground so this seems to be a great camping option for those who whish to camp. GO HERE FOR MORE INFO (clicky) (http://11109.rapidforum.com/topic=102372028283)

Remember, everyone is a contributor and responsible for the success of this event ....be ready to lead on anything that you see needs to be done. Thanks again to Bob for doing the shirts ...thanks to Tom Chase for stepping up on the Camping option.

We're getting closer, ...the weather should be fantastic and the roads are in splendid shape!!! .....renojohn[/font]

Is there a picture of the shirt?Where is your sense of adventure?? :-)
Last year we didn't know either ....But they turned out very nice. I'm sure Bob will do an equally good job this year. If we're given a sneak preview ...I'll let you know.

Meanwhile ...think of it as an adventure ....if you knew what was around the corner, it wouldn't be much fun!
