My wife and I ride two-up everywhere for long distance vacations. Our wide-body, long-haul 2 wheel vehicle of choice is a '99 HD Ultra Classic and we've done plenty of two-up miles (33K in 4 years). I still love that bike and will always be a HD owner. But, I need to start commuting 50 miles to work every day in lots of lousy weather and roads. The DL650 seems to fit the bill. Picked up a black DL650 last week. Truthfully, I've been grinning ever since. First thing I noticed is how light the bike feels. Just jump on, and take off. Very nimble. Everything performs well - fuel injection, easy ride, lack of vibration for a high rpm machine, nice saddle, clearance, instrumentation, effortless acceleration and shifting, - and that huge gas tank. I'm heading in for the 600 mile service next week. No complaints at all. Just a sweet bike. The Stromtroopers Site is well run and easy to use. Glad I found you.
