I am still looking for a riding partner for Alaska in 2007. I will be leaving from Louisville, KY and am allowing 5-6 weeks for the trip. I am an experienced rider and can handle long days and rough weather. I am flexible on the time ad can generally accommodate the other rider for scheduling. Give me a shout if interested.

I know several other IBA'ers who are going, including myself (though none of us together). When are you leaving and what is destination/general routing?

I'm looking to do a longish ride this year and haven't decided where I'm going yet. Alask may just be the thing. I'm not promised to a day or place. I live in Portland, so a few days up, a few days around and a few days back is perfect.

Do you have a route or destination in mind?

I will be doing an Alaska run, probably the last week of June or first week of July. Departure is from just south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The planned route is to first head on up to Yellowknife, NWT then dippsy-doddle back and around to Whitehorse, YT via the Mackenzie, up on over to Anchorage and Fairbanks, down south to Vancouver and then back on to home. Looking at approx. 12,000kms.

When did you think you would be going?

Hey Furious,

I am trying to talk another buddy from Portland into riding to Alaska next summer. My current working, but very rough plan, is to leave in late June, and get back in time to go to MotoGP at MRLS as the last leg of the tour, meaning late July. Might any of that work for you?

Hey there. I am flexible on all issues. I can leave when I want, return when I feel like it, camp or use hotels, eat anything that does not bite back, and will ride in any weather for any distance. I just want to go.

I am not a computer novice, but this forum reply format is a little mysterious to me. To make certain everybody who responded understands my situation, please note:

My personal email address is: map@donjohns.com if you want to get back to me individually.

Hope everybody sees this.

Well, I'd say that pretty much narrows things down. :D Just kidding. You sound like me.

I figured I was being plain, but I want a riding partner to Alaska next year. I can fit my schedule to any plan and get along with anybody who is not an anal retentive jerk. Based on conversations with people who have done this I am allowing 5-6 weeks for the trip.
