Here it is after adding the SW Motech crash bars and skid plate, Givi tubular sideracks, RallyPack soft luggage, Suzuki handguards and removing the stickers.

Thanks. ;) That's the cleanest it's ever been since I rode it out of the dealers. Probably the cleanest it'll ever be.
You should see it right now, I live on a farm with a 1/4 mile dirt driveway! :p

Looks great! Whats with the sticker up front? It's different than mine. Mine says V-Strom and it's not sold black. Yours looks better.

Thanks!
I had some black vinyl sticky-film left over from doing the headlight lenses so I made a "swoop" on both sides after I removed the "V-Strom" stickers.

Here's how I did the headlights with the vinyl film... since then I put a bit more curve in the film to follow the line of the reflectors.

I didn't notice the headlights. That looks great also but did it affect night visability at all?
Exactly what kind of film is it? I've seen some rolled stuff at Walmart for car windshields. I've used that stuff to put a 1" or so tint area on my visors at the top. You've got me contemplating doing something very similar on my bike. I think it would be a great way to protect some paint in vital areas and spice up the looks a bit.

It doesn't affect visibility at all, since the film only covers the silver plastic under the upper "vee" of the lense.
The film I got free from an auto detail place that does window tinting. It's solid black, it might be 3M. It's only a couple bucks per sq. ft. to buy it. They also had a bunch of different tinted stuff, but the black matches the plastic fairing perfectly.
It's very durable, no peeling or chipping so far, and the heat from the headlights bakes it on a little. There were a few small bubbles at first that disappeared.
Changes the whole look of the bike, huh?

By the way, I can't take credit for this, I got the idea from here:

I'm going to do some playing next Spring with that stuff. The best part is if I screw up I can just peel it off and try again. Could be kind of fun seeing what I can some up with.
Thanks for the pics and posts.

Your welcome. ;)
Hey, why not play around with it over the winter? At least your bike won't get lonely sitting in the garage! :D

It won't be lonely. It's looking up the butt of my CBR1100XX and she is one sexy momma.
Good looking machine. I like the colors offered for '07.:D
Out of curiosity, what did the engine guards and skid plate set you back?

At first glance I just thought you were incredibly brave to park in the grass - until I saw the lil' block of wood.
Did you paint the heat shield?

The grass is all there is to park on, I live on a farm. No pavement within a mile or two! :D
Yeah, I painted the heat shield satin black. I used Bulldog plastic-prep and SEM plastic trim paint. It's really durable, the Bulldog helps the paint to bond to the plastic.
