I took my secondary throttle plates out this a.m. I rode it a little and it seems smoother and more responsive. Will ride more tomorrow.

I read all these threads about removing the secondaries, and then I crack open my new service manual and all I see is WARNING WARNING when I'm reading the throttle body section of the manual.

My bike runs great. Secondaries are staying in. Don't really care what they do either. The bike gets to 140 kmh without as much as a whimper and it feels like there is way more there. Good enough for my tired old ass. They threw in a three year warranty on mine as well, so I don't need the headache if it ever has to go in for warranty work. But I will never tell anyone not to do it.

How did you get an extended warranty? No one even offered it to me.

If your bike is running great then by all means don't mess with it. My bike is running better after removing secondaries. It still is not great, but better. I believe the next thing is a power commander.

Poo on the PCIII...get a Techlusion DFO and be DONE!!!!!!! You don't need to play with fuel maps, you just need more fuel with the stock map.

I believe it was a promo on all 06 Suzuki street bikes at the time. I wasn't even aware until the dealer mentioned as we were signing off the deal. Docs came in the mail shortly thereafter. It's a nice feature, however I'm not expecting any trouble from this bike based on the first 7500 km, and it really ties you to a strict adherence to and documentation of the maintenance schedule, and limits the amount you can screw with the bike for three years.

Yeah, I got the extended warranty too. The dealer offered it if I paid cash instead of financing.
So my secondaries stay in until 2009, anyways.
Then we'll see.

I have ridden this several hundred miles now since removing secondaries. It is definately better but still not there yet. It seems to get worse the more time it is riden. If you only ride 20 miles it's not bad by 50 miles the thing is hesitating very noticeable at 3500 rpm. It occurs with just a little throttle added. If you add a lot of throttle it goes way most of the time. I have a k&n filter but otherwise stock. Lot's of posts on this site and others so not really looking for advice just adding my 2 cents. Looks to me like the next step is a power comander. Damn more money!!!

I just took my secondaries out and did the TBS. From the moment I laid into the throttle I could tell a big difference. The bike just responded a lot better in the lower gears and topped out quicker. It wasn't bad before but I could also tell a big difference between having them in and after taking them out.

I pulled my secondaries and just like everyone else, I'm satisfied with the results. It was like taking off the collar and letting the dog run free...much smoother above 5500 RPMs. I didn't realize the flapper passed *through* the rod, so I was surprised when it didn't drop down after the second screw was removed.

I know you said you weren't looking for advice, but I'd Yosh that thing for next to nothing before I dropped $300 on a PCIII. PC will fix it, but cost 10x as much. Yosh box will fix only what you need (low and mid FI richening) and not cost you all that money.

Big If your eyes are not brown they should be, it has been my observation, based on your comments that you lack any kind of tuning and technical skills and really don't know why or how a motorcycle or engine for that matter is designed to work. You being the leader of said Bull broadcasting, for someone to debate this with you would require something from you that is missing. While I am typing I'll bring up another short comming, you say you cannot remember getting less then 40 mpg well if you can't then you are not riding your bike as hard as you imply you can. Anyone capable of riding a 1k in a rapid manor should be able to get middle 30's to low 50's depending on how hard they ride it. Heavy read really close I am sure there is a booger in there somewhere. LOL

Yet another worthless post from the forums best contributor. If anyone on this site actually took you seriously, we would no longer exist. Keep on talking your talk and walking your walk....cause nobody cares!;) You are walking on thin glass on this forum and you know it! We all try to have a good time here, poke fun, make friends, and educate ourselves....none of which you are capable of. I will not say anything more concerning you "in public", but let it be known that you are your own enemy, and your own ultimate demise.
Sincerely yours,

I though it was "thin ice"? Did you change it because the winter has been so warm there is no ice, let alone thin ice?

I paid cash for my 06 DL1000 and the dealer didn't say anything about the free extended warrantee. Do I need to call the dealer??

Typical post from you, you show your back side with some of your post and when I bring it to your attention you further display your limitations by making threats. Heavy on the other finger has resorted to looking for boogers.LOL

If you're refering to my post, as WTW points out, that's in Canada. Could be a different story in the US. I wasn't aware of it myself, until the dealer offered. Can't hurt to ask though.
