Clutch lever squeaking

My clutch lever is squeaking near the piston. I want to apply some lube of sort on the piston to make the sound go away. Any suggestions on what to put on or not? I am thinking Vaseline or maybe a slight dab of Bel Ray waterproof grease.

I would go down to an auto supply store and get caliper grease. Permatex has it in small tubes. Anything to do with brakes can be very sensitive to anything petrolium based
