I would like to replace the wheels on my DL1000K5 with spokes. I am told that they would be lighter and stronger and personally I think spokes look more in character with the sports adventure look. Would like to hear you’ alls stories and opinions. If you know of an aftermarket wheel that would fit my strom as well as an OEM let me know. Plans with the bike so far are to rhino all the shiny parts and add spoke wheels (chrome spokes and black rim). Also add a good set of 50/50 tires. Suspension has been upgraded; Caribou and GPS are in the box. What say you? :?:

I am pretty sure that there is "slim pickings" if any for what you are wanting to do with the wheels. Spokes are lighter, but the more durable is up for debate. There may be other mods that may have to be made to your Strom, so that spoke wheels can be used. I DO like your Rhino coating idea, I have thought about doing that myself, especially with the tank, front fender and fork tubes. Thanks for the thread post, I hope that you get some good positive responses.

Would spoked wheels have to have tubes or is there a way to seal the spoke ends ??

How would that affect the Dual Disc brake rotors installation? wouldn't the center hub be larger to accomodate the disc's thereby shortening the spoke length????
