All of my previous motorcycles always seemed (seat of the pants) to run very strong on cold foggy mornings. My totally stock DL1000K4 seems to run too rich under these conditions to the point that it will not do power wheelies. I also see some black soot at the tail pipes and have had following riders mention a smell of gas. As soon as the fog burns off, all is well. This problem (however minor) does not seem to be temperature related. Tried the same in heavy rain but traction and survival instincts became the limiting variables.
Is this my bike or is it systematic with the Suzuki FI system. I understand that many may not see power wheelies in the fog as a critical item but I need something to wake me up for the early morning rides. More coffee might work but that causes its own problems when full suited up.
