Stromtrooper.com presents a great weekend of riding and fellowship.
A street ride on twisty rural southern Indiana roads will be held on Saturday, October 7.
The Howboucha 100 rough road ride will be held Sunday October 8, 2006.

Both days leave from Clay City, IN which is between Terre Haute and Bloomington, just south of Hwy 46 and right east of Hwy 59.
Address is 5834 S CR 300E Clay City, IN 47841
From Clay City, take Hwy 246 East (Towards Spencer) for approximately 3 miles. At CR 300 E (Or County Line Road) take a left (North). Ride approximately 1.2 miles on the paved road. You will come to a crest in the road and you will see a flag pole. In the driveway is a vintage Land Rover. Ride down the lane.
You are welcome to show up after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and stay until Sunday evening (or keep on camping if you want). After Sunday evening, the wife is guaranteed to get mad.
Saturday, we leave my place at 12:00 for a ride to Tunnelton, IN to see "the Big Tunnel". We will stop in Bedford at Wendy's, then continue the short run to Tunnelton. After the visit, we will stop for fuel, then head home, anticipated no later than 5:00. For those staying at my place, we will either grill out or go into Clay City to the Pizza Gallery.
For those staying in Terre Haute or Spencer, you are welcome to hang out for more food, drink and probably a nice campfire.
Sunday: We will leave my place at 10:00 a.m. The first section consists of excellent/twisty pavement, gravel, a few creek crossings. We will be having two stops in the first section. A short bathroom break at Rattlesnake Campground and a longer Ooh and Ahh stop at the Lower Cataract Falls. We will have lunch at Dairy Queen (on your own) in Spencer around 12:30. We will then roll south to the worlds largest/longest train viaduct for a bit of exploring. I anticipate arriving back at my place no later than 4:30. It will be a short day of riding, but a good time and just about right for those heading home after the ride.
No cost, no worries.
Lodging:
You can crash on my floor, couch, we have 1 spare bedroom, a barn, plenty of tent locations, etc. Only rule, you have to get used to two Boston Terriers who can get on nerves very easily. And bring shorts of some sort if you want to use the hot tub. :P
Go to http://www.terrehaute.com/lodging.aspx for a listing of hotels in Terre Haute, which is 40 minutes west of my house. I recommend the hotels in the 41/ I-70 region.
There is a wonderful state park in Spencer, IN which is approximately 30 minutes from my house. Details here: http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/properties/inn_canyon.html
There is a Howard Johnsons at I-70 and 59 (Brazil exit) but I don't know much about it. It's 15 minutes from my house.
Please e-mail me at bkearns@stromtrooper.com or call 812-236-3048 (cel) to let me know if you are coming, when, where staying and anything else.
All my rides are very informal, should be a good time, and a great reason to just hang out.
